The AstroCap Yellow disposable cap is a lightweight yet durable hair and head protection item, ideal for the food processing industry, pharmaceutical facilities and any environment requiring high hygiene standards. Made from polypropylene (PP) non-woven fabric with a grammage of approx. 12-20 g/m², the cap ensures comfortable, safe use while meeting stringent hygiene requirements. 

Disposable caps are a basic element of personal protection in the food industry, gastronomy, and food processing. These products prevent hair, skin flakes, and other biological contaminants from entering food, meeting the requirements of the HACCP system and sanitary standards applicable in catering facilities.

According to EC Regulation No. 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs, employees in contact with food are required to wear head coverings. Gastronomic hairnets and disposable caps eliminate the risk of microbiological contamination, which is crucial for sanitary safety.

Our offer includes 4 main categories of disposable caps:

  • Bouffant caps – made of polypropylene nonwoven fabric with a weight of 10–20 g/m², with an elastic band, universal size 53–60 cm in circumference
  • Caps with mesh insert – double-layer, inner absorbent layer, outer hydrophobic layer, thickness 0.08–0.12 mm
  • Disposable hairnets – made of nylon or polypropylene, mesh size 2–3 mm, available in white, blue, and green
  • Surgical caps – sterile, double-layer, with additional neck ties, compliant with EN 14126 standard

Technical specification of basic parameters:

The material used is mainly polypropylene (PP) spunbond nonwoven fabric with a weight of 10–25 g/m², characterized by antistatic properties and tear resistance. The material thickness ranges from 0.05–0.15 mm depending on the application.

Standard sizes include circumferences of 18–21 inches (45–53 cm) for size S, 21–24 inches (53–60 cm) for M, and 24–27 inches (60–68 cm) for L. The elastic band made of natural or synthetic latex ensures a tight fit without pressure.

The operating temperature range is -10°C to +80°C, allowing use in cold storage as well as in hot technological processes. Puncture resistance is at least 350 kPa according to EN 863 standard.

The choice of the appropriate cap type depends on the specifics of the workplace. In production kitchens, bouffant caps with additional moisture absorption are recommended; for direct contact with food – hairnets; and in sterile zones – surgical caps. Replacement should take place every 4–6 hours or at each change of workstation.
