Prodders, paddles and stunning devices constitute a specialized segment of equipment intended for the professional handling of livestock. These tools are used in meat processing plants, slaughterhouses, farms, and veterinary facilities, where controlled animal management is required while maintaining the highest welfare standards.

Each tool in this category serves a specific function in the handling process – from guiding animal movement to performing pre-slaughter procedures. The relevant legal regulations arise from EU Regulation No. 1099/2009 as well as national veterinary laws, which define minimum technical and procedural requirements.

Our range includes 3 main categories of tools:

  • Electric prodders – devices equipped with an electric pulse generator with a voltage of 3000–9000V at low current (below 5mA). Equipped with power regulators and ergonomic insulated handles. Shaft length: 60–120cm, weight: 0.8–1.5kg
  • Hand paddles – mechanical tools made of polyethylene or nylon composites. Available in rigid and flexible versions, with shaft lengths of 40–80cm. Working surface: 15–25cm
  • Pneumatic stunning devices – devices using compressed air (pressure 12–16 bar) to fire a penetrating bolt. Equipped with penetration depth regulators and safety systems

Technical specification of key parameters:

Electric prodders must comply with standard EN 60335-2-76 on electrical safety. Pulse frequency is 50–60Hz, and the duration of a single pulse does not exceed 1 second. Li-ion batteries provide 8–12 hours of continuous operation. Protection rating IP54 ensures resistance to moisture and dust.

Paddles are made of materials with hardness of 85–95 Shore A, providing the right balance between flexibility and durability. The specific gravity of the composites does not exceed 1.2 g/cm³, reducing operator fatigue. The working surface has an anti-slip texture.

Pneumatic devices use steel bolts with a diameter of 6–8mm and a length of 10–15cm. Bolt exit velocity reaches 50–70 m/s, ensuring immediate stunning with skull penetration of 7–10cm. Retraction systems allow multiple uses of the bolt.

Selection criteria include animal species, frequency of use, and sanitary requirements. Devices with higher power are used for cattle, while smaller units are sufficient for pigs. All tools require daily cleaning with disinfectants in accordance with HACCP procedures.
