Metal gloves are specialized protective equipment made of steel mesh, essential in the meat processing and food industry. The construction based on stainless steel provides resistance to cuts and punctures when working with sharp butcher tools. In meat processing plants, slaughterhouses, and butcheries, they are a fundamental element of personal protective equipment.
The production technology involves interweaving thin steel wires with a diameter of 0.45–0.50 mm into a mesh structure. This material distinguishes them from standard work gloves, offering a significantly higher level of protection against sharp edges of butcher knives, band saws, and other meat processing tools.
We offer 3 main categories of metal gloves:
- Short gloves (wrist length) – length 19–22 cm, ideal for precise work in butcher shops and restaurants. They provide full wrist mobility while protecting the hand during filleting and cutting smaller pieces of meat.
- Long gloves (full forearm) – length 40–45 cm with elastic cuffs, designed for heavy butchering work. They protect the entire forearm when portioning large carcasses and working with band saws.
- Steel tighteners – additional equipment that increases grip stability and prevents the glove from shifting during dynamic knife movements.
Technical specifications and parameters:
Material: stainless steel AISI 316L with wire thickness of 0.45–0.50 mm, corrosion-resistant in humid environments with detergents and disinfectants. Cut resistance: class 5 according to EN 388, providing the highest level of protection against sharp objects.
Size range: XS (6) to XXL (11), with color coding for easy identification in the workplace. Glove weight: 90–180 g depending on length and size. Operating temperature: from -10°C to +120°C, suitable for use in cold stores and thermal processing.
Adjustment systems: adjustable straps on wrist and forearm and elastic textile cuffs. The design ensures a tight fit without restricting blood circulation. Safety certificates: compliant with EN 388 and EN 420 standards for personal protective equipment.
Maintenance: washable in water up to 85°C with alkaline cleaning agents. Steam sterilization and chemical disinfection possible without damaging the steel structure. Durability: with proper use, they retain protective properties for 2–3 years of intensive use.
Selection criteria: glove length according to type of work performed, size based on hand circumference measured at knuckle level, and the presence of adjustment straps for precision tasks. Our offer includes models from renowned manufacturers Manulatex and Niroflex, guaranteeing top quality and compliance with health and safety requirements in the food industry.
